How does WebSurvey work?

WebSurvey follows a three step process:

  1. Set up: You provide your questions and the email addresses of your respondents. We create your survey and place it online. For complex surveys will we work with you to ensure you get the data you need.
  2. Execution: Your respondents are invited to your online survey via email. While your survey is ‘live’ you can monitor its progress. Before your survey closes, we can email a reminder to respondents who haven’t completed it.
  3. Results: When your survey ends, we report your results in an agreed format. If required, WebSurvey’s data experts can also analyse your survey results.

What expertise do you have?

WebSurvey is managed by survey experts with a wide variety of expertise, from statistics, to psychology, computer science, mathematics and data management.

How much does WebSurvey cost?

WebSurvey is priced using a per-use model. Online survey set up costs begin at $2000 +GST and a usage fee of $1.50 +GST applies per respondent. For an accurate quote, please contact us to discuss your needs.

How do I get my online survey results?

Results are available instantly upon completion of your survey. The results of your survey can be delivered in an agreed format. Typically WebSurvey users receive results in CSV, Excel, HTML or SPSS.

My survey is very large and complex, can WebSurvey cope?

Yes. WebSurvey is a comprehensive platform able to manage thousands of respondents in a single survey.

How long does creating an online survey take?

While WebSurvey can create and launch your survey within five working days, we usually recommend a period of ten working days to comfortably design, establish, review and launch your survey.

More complex data collections may require a longer set-up period.

Can I have a paper survey as well?

Yes. Using WebSurvey, you can mail paper copies to respondents or make your survey available for download via PDF.

What do I need to do to create an online survey?

WebSurvey requires no technical knowledge. Simply create your questions and we do the rest. While your online survey is live, however, we recommend that you or someone from your organisation be available as a contact point for respondent enquiries.

Can I use my organisation’s logo?

Yes. Your branding can be integrated into the design of your online survey. You’ll also have complete control over the text of your survey introduction and emails.

Can you analyse my results?

Yes. If required, we can perform basic results analysis to help you put the information you’ve gathered to work.

Where will my online survey be hosted?

We host our surveys on our own systems at a secure Melbourne based co-location facility. This facility includes 24/7 monitoring, 24/7 guarded and monitored access, climate control, redundant power and redundant high-speed internet connectivity.

Will my survey be secure?

Yes. We take data security seriously. In addition to our secure hosting facilities, you can also acquire a digital secure certificate to protect your respondent’s information.

Can I write the invitation and reminder emails?

Yes. Using WebSurvey, you have complete control over all survey content – from invitation and reminder emails, to your survey’s introductory text.

Does WebSurvey support Internet Explorer 6 (IE6)?

We endeavour to ensure that WebSurvey functionality is appropriately rendered and functional on a range of supported browsers. There is no additional cost for this ongoing development work and technical support to ensure supported browsers can access our technology.

However,  Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) has entered what Microsoft is calling an ‘extended support’ phase. They are encouraging users to move away from IE6 and are not offering support, patches and security updates for IE6 other than for a specific set of larger clients. This has resulted in a range of on-line services (one of the most notable being Google) no longer supporting IE6. As such, we no longer include it in our standard support.

If you are using IE6 and have no choice but to continue to do so within a corporate IT framework, please discuss this with us. In order to ensure your on-line survey is fully functional and appropriately rendered in IE6, additional work is required to fully test on IE6 – and, where necessary, modify code, offer alternative web page rendering or modify page layout. For a standard survey, this will cost an additional $500.  For surveys that are not standard, we’re happy to quote on the testing and modifying the WebSurvey functionality to adapt to IE6.
